Frequently asked questions

Is my financial data private?

Yes — completely. All data lives on your device in the app’s own database. There are no developer servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.

Do I need an account to use Nworth?

Nworth uses a local account that lives only on your device — it acts as a lock on the app so no one else can open it and see your finances. Nothing is registered with the developer or any server.

To use Nworth on multiple devices, open Connect in the app and sign in with Apple. Your data is then synced by Apple across your own devices through your private iCloud — the developer never sees it.

How do I back up my data?

Use the in-app export (JSON/CSV) or enable the optional iCloud backup, which stores a snapshot in your own private iCloud Drive. Because the developer holds no copy of your data, we cannot recover it for you — regular backups are strongly recommended.

Where do stock prices come from?

Live prices come from third-party market data providers. Only ticker symbols leave your device — never your quantities or balances. Prices may occasionally be delayed or unavailable depending on the provider.

How do the AI insights work?

AI analysis is optional and off by default. You bring your own Claude or OpenAI API key, and requests go directly from your device to that provider. AI output can be inaccurate — it is not financial advice.

Something looks wrong — a price, a total, a bug?

Send us an email with what you saw and roughly when. Screenshots help a lot. Please don’t include sensitive account details in your email.
