Privacy Policy

Overview

Nworth is a privacy-first personal net worth tracker. It was built on a simple principle: your financial data is yours, and it should never leave your control. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it lives, and what (very little) ever travels over the network.

Data we collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The developer operates no servers, and the app has no account system, no sign-up, and no login. We cannot see your data — there is nothing for us to see.

• No personal information — no name, email, or identifiers are ever requested or collected.
• No financial data leaves your device — balances, holdings, debts, and property values are stored only locally.
• No analytics or telemetry — no usage tracking, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs, no third-party trackers.
• No background pings — the app only makes the network requests described below, at your request.

Where your data lives

All data you enter is stored in a local database inside the app’s sandbox on your device, protected by your device’s own security (passcode, Face ID / Touch ID, and encryption).

If you enable the optional iCloud sync/backup feature, a snapshot of your data is stored in your own private iCloud Drive, protected by your Apple ID and governed by Apple’s privacy policy. The developer has no access to your iCloud data at any time.

Network requests the app makes

Nworth makes only two kinds of outbound requests, both directly from your device:

• Market prices — to show live quotes, the app sends only ticker symbols (e.g. “AAPL”) to third-party market data providers. Your quantities, balances, and identity are never included.
• Optional AI insights — if you choose to add your own Claude or OpenAI API key, analysis requests go directly from your device to that provider under your key and their terms. The developer never sees, routes, or stores these requests or responses. This feature is entirely optional and off until you configure it.

These third-party services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms; the developer is not responsible for their practices.

Your data, your responsibility

Because the developer holds no copy of your data, we also cannot recover it. You are responsible for safeguarding your data using the app’s export (JSON/CSV) and backup features. Data may become unrecoverable if your device is lost or reset, the app is deleted, or the operating system fails — please keep backups.

Children’s privacy

Nworth is not directed at children under 13 and, consistent with the rest of this policy, collects no data from anyone — including children.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices ever change, this policy will be updated here and the “Last updated” date revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
